How to Use the 4-in-1 Soil Tester

NOTE: The switch on the back of the meter determines what mode you are in: pH or Moisture + Temperature. Make sure this is set correctly to read the appropriate metric.

Follow these steps to take accurate soil readings:

1. pH Level Measurement

  • Set the measuring mode to pH (Switch on back).
  • Insert the probe vertically into the soil (about 4-6 inches deep).
  • Wait 60 seconds for the reading to stabilize.
  • Compare the results to your plant’s recommended pH levels.

2. Moisture Level Measurement

  • Set the measuring mode to Moisture.
  • Insert the probe gently into the soil and wait 60 seconds.
  • Check the moisture reading:
    • Dry (0-3) – Water needed
    • Moist (4-7) – Ideal range
    • Wet (8-10) – Avoid overwatering

3. Light Intensity Measurement

  • Position the device near the plant with the sensor facing the light source.
  • Turn on the device and read the light intensity level.
  • Adjust the plant’s position if necessary.

4. Temperature Measurement

  • Select the °C/°F mode.
  • Insert the probe into the soil and wait 60 seconds for an accurate reading.
